Please join us for an interactive virtual event to connect with Hull Professor of Feminist Studies, Dr. Eileen Boris. The Feminist Futures Initiative, Feminist Studies, and UC Santa Barbara leadership are pleased to host a presentation focused on gender, labor, and social movements from Making The Woman Worker. We will follow with a discussion of how we can learn from our past to create bridges that connect experiences and visions into actionable strategies.

Conversation in partnership with Nicole de Silva, UCSB graduate student who helped Professor Boris proofread Making The Woman Worker.

Eileen Boris

Eileen Boris is the distinguished Hull Professor of Feminist Studies and director of the Center for Research on Women and Social Justice at UC Santa Barbara. The Hull Chair was the first endowed chair in the UC System in this field. Boris earned her PhD and master’s degrees in American Civilization at Brown University. Her areas of expertise include gender, race and class; feminist theory; labor studies; social political; women, work and welfare; and women’s and gender history.
